I just saw the weather forecast.  60% chance of rain on Saturday is what they're predicting.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

For those of you who are planning to go on the scouting trip:

The weather forecast is for 60% chance of rain all the way through Sunday.  How many of you would be willing to put this off until May 26 and would still be able to attend?

I will be out of town on the 26th. However, one forecast I saw is only a "chance" of thunderstorms on Saturday the 19th.
We should have a better forecast by Wednesday.

The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

I'd be willing to wait until we hear the Wednesday night forecast to make a decision.  Meantime, those who plan to go, voice your opinions.

Whenever it is going to be, I recommend adding it to the calendar.  This will help show activity, and will aid people in looking back at events.

That's true because of arrangements that've all been committed to, like hotel and restaurants.  For me, I would be driving my 87.  If I were driving it, I would be more apt to go in rainy weather.  At the moment, I have some problems with it and am limited to driving my 86, which has some handling issues, even when it's on a dry road.  I don't dare drive it in heavy rain.

One of my concerns is that in the 2000-3000 ft elevations we will be driving, is that we will run into dense clouds or fog.  We have encountered that before when we made a meet and greet trip up the Blue Ridge Parkway to Asheville.  We could hardly see 50 feet ahead and I almost ran over two bicyclists.  Just happened to see that little flashing red light on the rear of one of the bikes.

I'll let you know what I would like to do, tonight after the evening weather report.  If I decide not to go, I can provide route sheets for anyone that would still like to do it this weekend.  If it turns out that no one can do it on the first good Saturday, Tegan and I can do it alone.  After Thursday, she will be with me every day throughout the summer.

Forecast for Robbinsville on Saturday is high of 80, low of 58 and rain.

Anyone wanting to go, let me know and I'll send you a copy of the route sheet.  I'm not going.

I don't think we can come near duplicating the run in heavy rain and possible heavy cloud cover up on the mountains.  I would really like to have a group going and I know this will cause some to not be able to go at a later date.  I'm sorry for that, but I need to think of an accurate documentation run and everyone's safety
