I'm out: http://artsintheheartofaugusta.com/

My daughter will be performing at Arts in the Heart of Augusta that weekend.

I love my Fiero, but I love my kids more.

My daughter just sent me a photo of the new Tennessee State Police cruisers that are going into use on The Tail of The Dragon.  They are of the standard black, white and gold colors, applied to a Supercharged 3-wheel Slingshot.  So what we may think to be just another person out to attack The Dragon, they will also be there to attack your wallet.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Police aren't known for being good drivers.  On the face of things, the slingshot is better suited to driving curvy roads than a motorcycle or a sedan; however, it handles differently from either, and officers tasked with driving slingshots should be required to take and pass performance driving classes specific to the slingshot, so as not to be a danger to the populace.

The slingshot gives a false sense of security, but can be a handful.  It's fun to drive, but has odd handling characteristics.  It's more suited for a leisurely drive than for performance.

I thought the police on 129 only mess with people who cross the center line.

They also get speeders.  Scott and I encountered one in a SUV, parked in a curve at the end of a little bit of a straight.  He was running hand-held radar.  Wasn't a laser.  By the appearance of the big round white head on it, it was X-K band stuff.  We had just caught up with a couple of saddlebaggers and were only slightly over the 30 mph speed limit.

I'm just throwing this out there, but running over the limit could take all the fun out of the event for someone.  I enjoy pushing the limit as much as the next person, but as a group, for a club event.....I wouldn't want to encourage anyone to break the law, or such behavior to result in a ticket or worse.

I may run a bit fast by myself, but when I have a group with me, I try to run at the speed limit.

But I won't be there, so my opinion isn't worth much.

From our official route sheet:

THIS IS NOT A RACE.  Each person should drive at their own comfort level.  You don’t have to keep up with anyone.  If you feel you’re being pressed by the vehicle behind, pull to the side when you have the first opportunity and let faster traffic pass.

I have some tshirt orders that I need to send to the printer.  Anyone else want to place their order so I can send them all at one time?

I'll start this by hypocritically stating that I cannot attend.  That having been stated up front, this is an event we host; we need to have a good showing of club members.

I was looking in Events on PFF, and didn't see RFTH listed there, although I know it's in the General Fiero Chat section.  True, Events doesn't get as much traffic, but it does get traffic, and topics stay at the top longer.
