Didn't the 85 Indy Pace Car have a 4-cylinder with turbo?  It was an Oldsmobile Calais and the street version had the Iron Duke.  It's possible that it may have had the SD4, too.  The only two actual pace cars built were convertibles and weren't street legal.  They were sold to a private museum in California without title so they can't be registered.

There are still ways to register them; that's why you usually must sign an agreement not to title them.  Those cars are not for street use, though.  They are designed to turn left, and are missing things that are required to be street legal.

One of the Sunbird engines was a 2.0 Turbo.
A company called Red Shift Limited built several Fieros with that powertrain, in 87 and 88.

That's cool!  Directly through the dealer.  I wonder how the warranty worked.  A bit of extra torque and HP.  That was probably a decently-quick Fiero.
