Fast Back body Shell needed/??
« on: October 21, 2018, 03:53:01 pm »
MY race car has a bit of rust in some places that make replacement with another car easier than repair . I need no front suspinsion, no rear components as if you unbolt the frame and drop it,  the SCCA C A M  SERIES REQUIRES A FAIRLY COMPLETE INTERIOR, I would need most of that as well and color will not matter I can Dye it or paint. I do not need an 88 because the Chassis isn't needed.

The body?  Cannot rust.

I'm just wondering how that will work for staying under $1K.

If you don't need the front or rear, and don't need the chassis, what is the part you need?  The cradle?

Just the interior?

Scott just told me he has a silver 86 or 87 Aero Notchie that he's parting out and must be gone by Christmas or it's going to the crusher.

so when I SAY rust, I mean the corrison that attacks the Metal Srructure that the Plastic attach's too. and being from the Great White North, It has plenty.
When I say FAST BACK  I mean the body that isn't a notch back,I am looking for what is known as a roller , looking for a chassis/frame with a Plastic or whatever they are made of body Attached, and an interior. I do not need a drive train or front suspension.
I think Scotts car has been ......uhm...  comprimised... verticaly, and its a notch,or was.

You're correct, John.  I didn't enlarge his picture and hadn't noticed the roof damage.  Didn't realize this was the one that met a tree.

You realize that all the steel space frames are the same. Right? (Well... with the exception of the "88 revisions".)
You can take any space frame and bolt a fastback body clip onto it, in a couple of hours. My fastback started life as a Formula (notchback.)

Thank you raydar,  I thought that may be. so does anyone have the fastback body panels and or a Space frame with no Rust, and are there enough interior parts laying around to mock up an interior.  IT DOES NOT NEED TO WORK,just be there.

I might be willing to part with my "parts car" for a couple hundred bucks. It's a Formula, rolling chassis, no rust. The seats are actually pretty good, so I'd want them, the rear sway bar, and (after it's rolled to it's new destination), the front hubs.
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

I think I have everything you need. $500 for the fastback roof, decklid, & engine vents. The spaceframe, any body panels, & interior pieces are highly negotiable.
You might just get the car TopNotch has & put my fastback parts on it.

I Think, Therefore I am,  I Think.

and with whole RUNNING cars selling for 500 bucks, I think NOT !

i'll probably scrap out this stuff and get back to work on the Vette's.

See ya 'round.   probably not at a car event though since ya'll don't go to them.

Parts are worth more individually than a complete car.  Whether you purchase the parts new and install them, or strip parts from a car to sell them, the parts are worth more off the car.
