That is the opening to the gold mine shaft.

Dahlonega is the site of the second gold rush in the United States.  However, it was much more significant than the first one which occurred in North Carolina, according to Wikipedia.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

That gold rush contributed to one of the sadder chapters of Georgia history -- the expulsion of the Cherokees on the "trail of tears".
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

Did Tammy drive her Miata?

Nah. She thought it was going to rain (as did I) so she begged off.

I've been thinking about this event, but in the larger sense, all events.  In many ways, each event is a party.  Time is spent on planning.  People are invited.  No people, no party.  Sorry I couldn't make it.

It would be great to have this cruise, with the AeroDon Fiero leading.

We have attempted 4 Don Hulse Memorial Cruises.  The first was to Cumberland Island for Don because he had never been to the Georgia coast.  Only Don and I went and my brother rode with me.  The second was up in the mountains.  Only Pat and I went.  The third, Pat, Steve and I were the only ones.  There was one other that no one said they were going, so I cancelled.

It may have been my fault.  Just looking at my weekends, every third Friday of the month is the board meeting, so I can't go anywhere.  One Saturday every other month, my kids have an activity, plus 2 Saturdays per month.  The second weekend in January, second and fourth weekends in February, first and second weekends in March, first and second weekends in April, third weekend in May, second weekend in June, first weekend in July, first weekend in November, second weekend in December, I'm already booked.  That is just my calendar.  My wife's calendar has more stuff.

It's up for sale.  He wanted someone in the club to buy it, but I've not seen it listed anywhere.
