I think so.  Couple of turns in the early part sneak up on you.  Top a hill and immediately have to make a right or left turn onto another road. 

We stopped to see the White Bat but they no longer have it.  Also went up Brasstown Bald.  The kind lady at the gate let us go in to take some pictures without paying the parking fee. 

This is far as you can go in your personal vehicle.  They have shuttle buses from the building.  There's a huge parking lot behind me.  Some people take the walking trail to the top.


Pat has a much closer shot of the observation tower. 




Headwaters of the Chattahoochee River.  One of the many rivers, lakes or streams along our way.


Atlanta is somewhere beyond the horizon.

Is that a walking bridge across the stream?

I thought of getting a good pic of the Atlanta skyline, but did not have time or a good place to stop.

Yes, it is.  If you look at the pole with the green padding on it, then look upward you can see two of the rings are pulled behind the tree.  There was a young man, pre-teen, maybe, that was coming back.  The lady down below was taking pics of him as he progressed on the hand rings.

Those bridges always fall when I get on them.  Fortunately, that one isn't high, and the stream isn't deep.  You could walk across.  During the dry season, you could certainly step across.

More likely that termites ate it.  It was a bait and switch thing.  A baseball bat painted white and placed in a glass top display case.

There are actually two bridges there.  The course takes you across one and back on the other.  The water level is close to normal.  It's a trout stream and during season, you can see anglers all along its path.

For those of you not familiar with Georgia, Brasstown Bald is the tallest mountain in Georgia. At the top is a museum and forest fire lookout tower. As Fierofool said, I have a closer picture of the tower (new camera w with long zoom). This is from the parking lot (see Fierofool's first picture).
