Roll this top to bottom toward the camera.  The open box on the end with the metal strip is where the heater core fits and a cover goes over the opening.  You are looking at the bottom surface.  The bottom photo is oriented correctly, looking from the front compartment side, with the right side being to the driver's side of the car.

There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I'm trying to figure out what I see by the gas pedal.  No idea how to get to the front actuator.

Its been a while, but I nelieve all that you see from the drivers side is the duct work for the defrost and the vent by the drivers door.... the "actuator" is some cables that runs from the center of the dash over the plenum box..... unless youre asking about something else

There are those 2 mode actuators.  It appears that I can see one from the driver side footwell.

You may be able to see that one that's in the picture I copied above.

All I know is that if the "orange" clamp holding the cable to the case.  If it breaks you may or maynot have air conditioning or heat.  Michael and I found that out when he fixed my air conditioner and then we thought that it went bad because it was blowing hot air instead of cold air.   The orange clamp had broke and the heat/cold slider was just flopping around

Pics like these would be great.

Top Picture:  This is positioned as it's mounted into the car.  The actuator shown is almost directly behind the radio, down aganst the tunnel.

Second Picture:  This is the floor side of the system.  The section th ductwork is sitting on is what bolts to the front bulkhead.  Same with the Third Picture.

Fourth Picture:  This is the side that bolts to the inside of the front bulkhead.
