Paul Angel aka Tha Driver in Commerce and Jon Champlain in Mableton.  Paul has a car in the shop at the moment and I'm first in line for Jon's new paint shop.  Maybe we can get a group discount for 2 identical cars.  :D

How much do you want to spend, and how good of a paint job do you want?

There is a drive-through place near here.  Probably not a good paint job.

Thoughts on painting a Fiero:
I had some items painted on my Fiero at a reputable shop.  The deal was that they would have a month to do it, while I was out of the country.  Of course, nothing happened, until I got back, and was ready to puck up my Fiero.  They skipped me in line.  After they got my Fiero painted (spoiler and quarter scoops), it looked OK, but they left it outside in the rain, because they "forgot to bring it in".  A few days after I picked up my Fiero, there were yellow streaks in the paint.  They did fix those, and everything has been OK since.

I "forgot" to pay them for half of the paint job.

This was a place that paints all the beautiful classic and historical cars.  I believe they wanted to make their opinion of my Fiero known.

Topnotch,  I want a paint job that I DONT have to backup to get in it, so I dont have to look at the paint job.

Fierofool,  will give you a call.

GTRS, you get what you pay for, and if you paid to much you got sc**ed

I had both of my Fieros painted at the Maaco on Highway 78, Snellville. They're not perfect, but they're nice. Many of you have seen them. I offer that specific Maaco as a suggestion only, as I hear they're not all the same, and I don't have any experience with another Maaco.

My car was repainted by MAACO in Douglasville.  Same shop that did AeroDonamic.  Don got a good paint job that seems to be holding up to this day.  My top of the line base coat/clear coat paint job with a 5-year guarantee started to show what looked like stone chips after 3 years.  Thing is, the stone chips weren't just on the nose, but all over the hood and even on the roof.  They declined to honor the guarantee with the defense that it was stone chips, not paint defects.  When I first went to pick up the car, it had buffing compound embedded in the roof paint and had been clear coated over.

The thing about the MAACO shops is that they have a high personnel turnover, so like Don and I, he got a good prep and paint man.  I didn't.

I suggest if it's a car you want to keep and be proud of, don't use a chain store paint and body shop.

Prep is very important.  The small used car dealerships around here used to do their own prep work, then have Maaco paint the cars.  It worked OK.  A friend who used to build custom motorcycles once rented the paint booth at a Maaco, though.  He said it took 4 hours to get the booth clean enough to use.

Unless I am mistaken (it's been a long time since then) I believe that shop folded not too long after doing your car. I still don't think there's a Maaco near me.
Not to excuse their poor service, in your case, but it would appear that you were not the only person dissatisfied with their work.
