There is a guy in the area who has what looks to me like a 2-door Cavalier. I never thought anything of it, until he dropped the engine from the REAR.
At that point, I noticed that it has a hatch, rather than a trunk. It has no rear seats, and has a window behind the driver. It was pouring rain, but the guy says it's a newer version of my car (Fiero).
The Cavalier never came in rear-wheel drive, or in mid/rear-engine configuration. The fact remains, there is no engine anything in the front of this car. It looks as if someone mounted a Fiero rear into a Cavalier.
That seems like a lot of work. If I was going to do such a thing, I'd have used a Firebird, or a Corvette.
To be accurate, the engine that came out of the Cavalier is not a Fiero engine, and did not look as if it came out of a Fiero. There appeared to be a cradle, and the transmission is there. I was looking from a bit of distance.
I'm just saying, but surely buying a Fiero would be a far better/easier/cheaper idea than converting a Cavalier to a mid-engine vehicle.
