Chrome, aluminum, or stainless steel?  Which is easiest to keep polished?

Rated easiest to hardest:
1 Chrome
2. Stainless steel
3. Aluminum
The more complex the mind, the greater the need for the simplicity of play.

Well, darn.  They used aluminum for the valve covers.  I wonder if there is red chrome.

Chrome retains heat.  Not a good choice for some engine parts.  A matte finish will dissipate heat better than the same color in a gloss finish and a flat finish is the best.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Hmmm.  Tim Taylor claimed that he chromed the canooter valve.  Probably not a good idea.  No idea where such a valve was theorized to exist.

At the Fiero 30th, someone had a SD4 valve cover like I have on my duke, but he had chromed it. It was very pretty.

I saw a chromed SD4 valve cover at the 35th.  Yep.  Very nice.
