If the speedo reads high, do I need a VSS gear with more teeth or fewer teeth?

Probably any car with a 125 transmission would have the necessary gear.  Do you know what the teeth count is on your present gear?  Check Paul's interchange parts list.

Actually, yes I checked the list, and no, not any 125 transmission.  I have not counted the teeth, but have a blue gear.

I just looked at the list and there's a whole bunch of 125 Automatics listed that will fit the Fiero.  All the way up to the mid 90's.

They must be a 3.33 ratio.  Also, the gears apparently like to break on removal, so I want it with the VSS, which is apparently not the same.  I tried some other VSSs, and they did not work.

Well, these are not fun to locate.  I've gone through whole buckets of gears.  I'm about VSS'd out.
