Wanted -- trunk popper solenoid
« on: August 25, 2019, 04:56:04 pm »
The trunk popper solenoid is rusted solid on the 3800 car I'm working on. Which explains why no one was able to open the trunk by applying voltage.

Somewhere, I saw a thead on fixing that solenoid.  My feeling is that, once it's failed me, I replace it.

Is the popper the same on the notch and fastback? I've got a notch lid stashed, I'll check and see if the popper is still on it.

The solenoid is the same in any case.

Actuator rods and their spring are worth retaining.  They are specific to notchback or fastback with the fastback rod being longer.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers
