Charlie's alternator quit putting out voltage early Saturday so he would run until the battery voltage went down, he and I would swap batteries. After jump starting my car I would charge his battery back up while he would tun off of mine. Then we would do it again. Anyone know what the going rate is for charging bayteries?
I did not put "alternator" or "car battery" in the list for RFTH.
Many years ago, I was in the hospital in Memphis, TN. When I was released, the car I had to drive home in was a Ford Pinto. Maybe a '78. Of course, the alternator would not charge the battery, as I found out, about an hour later. It was sortof rainy outside, and this was on a Sunday. I limped the Pinto to a parts store. They verified the bad alternator, but no one had an alternator in stock. There was no help but to drive on. So, I had them charge the battery fully, left the lights off, and only used the wipers when I had to. Several hours later, I limped the Pinto home.
