255 infected. Shelter at home orders. Traffic sparse. Parking lots are mostly empty. Work on lockdown. Police sparse. I was designated as an essential employee, so I have to carry the form with me, and have to go in to work. People have been reasonable, thus far, but I'm sure that will only last, so long. My workload has increased a lot, but additional restrictions have been implemented. Less driving, more working remotely.
Shelves a bit bare at stores. Plastic shields at cash registers. Tape on floor to maintain social distancing. Product limits of 1 meat item, 2 of anything else. Lines to get into stores, but no social distancing, there. No products containing alcohol, latex gloves, wipes, face masks, paper products, sanitizers, etc available. Pharmacies closed. Notmally, we drink 10-12 gallons of milk per week. They say to shop fewer times, but that isnxt possible. To get food for the week, rather than go once per week to one or two stores, we must go to five or six stores, several times a week. Many items, we have had to do without, because they aren't available. We have been using mouthwash that is 70% alcohol as a sanitizer. It has a peppermint scent.
Most stores are now closing at 5 or 6pm, meaning closed when I get off work. Staff at stores is sparse. When checking out, there are long lines. It can take an hour or more to get chdcked out. Customers in the store often give you the stink eye.
Many bank locations are closed, and ATM's offline. If you can't do it through your phone, you have to drive a ways.
Wedding venues are cancelling events, but not refunding money. My boss' daughter was to get married this weekend.
Church is insisting on people still sending the same $$$. So much for them understanding.
I was supposed to have a wisdom tooth pulled. The tooth is infected, and growing into another tooth. Postponed indefinately.
Fuel prices are down to $1.90/gal. With less traffic, fuel goes further, but road work isn't being done, so the roads are in poor condition. Of course, we are still being taxed for services not provided. Gas stations are employees only, meaning no public restroom.
We're mostly staying at home, but doing shopping for my parents. Our days are still busy, but this situation is taking a toll on everyone. We have heard that there is backlash toward Asian people, but haven't experienced such.
