Looking for a set of fiero seats
« on: May 04, 2020, 08:55:55 pm »
Anyone sitting on a set of seats they have no use for and a willingness to part with? I would like to recover them and use them for our 77 Vette.

I don't have the bottoms but I have a pair of backs and a pair of rails.  There is an 86 at the South Pull a Part yard.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

What happened to the seats from the parts cars?

If you mean Scott's stripper car, they were exposed to the rain for years and were rotted.  Pat's parts Formula may have some.

This isn't for a fiero so I would feel odd taking parts from the barn for the Vette.

There's some in the rafters of the barn. I don't even know who put them up there -- I am not physically capable. They may not be in the best condition because there are foam rubber pieces on the floor below them. There could be considerable critter damage.
There are seats in my parts car that you are welcome to. The driver seat is patched with duct tape in the usual area.

It would seem that the parts will have to be used sometime.

TopNotch, how much do you want for the seats? Not worried about the cover damage since we are getting Mr.Mikes for them.

The ones in the barn or the ones in the parts car?

Like I said, feel odd taking club parts for a Corvette and not a fiero so probably the ones from your parts car.

If the underpadding is bad in the seats, The Mr. Mike's leathers I installed came with ample padding to repair and build up the seat.

I will look at the barn seats tomorrow to see how they are, and decide then which you can have.

I climbed a ladder and took a look at the seats in the barn. The passenger seat seems salvageable. As for the driver seat, well, there was another seat bottom on top of that seat, upside down, which formed a little "cave" between the two seats. A critter, now absent, took advantage of that little cave and built a nest there, and tore up both seat bottoms. I don't know how much of the seat is required for a Mr. Mikes re-do, but it's probably toast.
So I recon you can have the parts car seats for $50 bucks. When can you come get them?

Done! When is good for you? Other than the meeting tomorrow I am pretty much wide open.
