Just an FYI- Unfortunately, due to a personal medical issue(not Covid 19), I'll be unable to join you this year.  I hope all of you have a safe and fun run tomorrow!

What happened?
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I'm also curious what happened, but do you need anything?

I'm already in Tennessee it rained all day Thursday but cleared nicely by 3 on Friday.   Saturday looks to be sunny and dry.  See everyone for lunch on Saturday.

Hopefully, everyone attending either has arrived, or will soon arrive.  I know, some people live a few minutes away from the start point, so won't show up until tomorrow.

Tomorrow, before the run, everyone should check if their alternator is plugged in.

I thought I'd get a reaction on that one.

Note that I suggested waiting until tomorrow to check.  I'd still like to know how that came unplugged.

I'm going out tonight and unplug a few so I'm not the only one in the battery swap club.

What happened?

Well, i started off just before noon. Noticed a small stumble in the RPMs in the first 10 miles of driving. Which concerned me as the car has been extremely reliable and trouble free other than having to replace a clutch.  The stumble went away and I thought it might have been my imagination.  I'm about 80 miles into the trip when the stumble comes back and I now know it's not my imagination. I drive for a few more miles and it doesn't go away and I'm looking for an exit. I get off exit and the car stalls at the light. It turns over and starts, but then the motor immediately dies. I roll the car onto the should and wait for 10 minutes contemplating my next move.  I try starting it again and it does and holds revs.  But it sounds terrible.  Nothing grinding but more like timing or a spark plug missing kinda noise (I'm not a mechanic by trade so forgive me on my descriptions).  I get to a gas station, use the bathroom and wait about 20 minutes.  Start the car again, and it starts right up and is purring. I decide to head back home at this point.  I get about 20 miles closer to home and the issue crops up again and this time accompanied by a backfire or two.  I pull off 77 and decide it's too dangerous to lose power on the main highway and call a tow.  Any ideas on what I should look at?  Plugs are good and wires are good.

Sorry that this happened as I was looking forward to seeing everyone and the drive.  Love it up there in the mountains.  Be safe and have fun!!!

Looks nice.

ICM?  Timing does not miraculously cure itself.  It could be a coil.  Whatever it is, I suspect ignition.  Or fueling.
