Rear Strut Removal
« on: June 10, 2020, 06:54:36 pm »
Hi All,

I finished my Hemi rebuild and am turning back to the 86 GT. I have new struts for the rear. The top nut turns the strut shaft and does not loosen. Any tips on removing it? I have new ones so they don’t have to be reused.

Put a pipe wrench on the strut shaft, then loosen the nut.  A bit of penetrating oil on the nut won't hurt.

Alternatively, sawzall the shaft off.
