Time to buy tires
« on: August 04, 2020, 05:19:48 pm »

The time had finally come to get new tires.
Front are P205/60R15  I'm ok with that.
Rear are P215/60R15 which I'd like taller, in order to give my Fiero more of a crouching stance.

Will P215/65R15 tires fit without any problems?  Not too concerned if the speedo is off by a bit.

Any suggestions on tire brands and sizes since Michelin doesn't seem to have anything?

Now with a trailer hitch for my bike rack.

Not sure where you are located but I can highly recommend Grand Turismo East here in Chamblee to pick you out a great set of sneakers.  Tell them what you use it for and they will find what you need at all price ranges.  It's a race prep shop as well and they have aligned both my vintage cars and did tires on the VW.  Real enthusiasts work there.

I have run 215 60r 15's on the front and 225 60r 15's on the rear of all my gt's.

Kumho has served me well but 215's seem to be in short supply.  I went to Hankook on my truck when Kumhos weren't available.   Still a good choice.   Good tread life on both.  I get them from Tire Rack.

Paul, I didn't notice the 65 ratio aspect.  That will be a taller tire and might present a problem on the 88 if you go up to a 215 on the front.  It won't be a problem on the rear.  You could leave the 205/60's on front and go with a 225/60 on the rear to give you a little wider tread patch.  That will also raise the rear.
