September 12 Fiero Club Business and Workshop Meeting

There are several workshop projects available for our September meet.  We will meet at Scott's shop in Cumming at 10AM.

Projects include diagnosing overhead and courtesy light failure, oil change on a Fiero, and breaking down my old 87 engine to diagnose the failure. 

Final RFTH 25 discussion is also on the table. 

Maybe we can discuss and clear up some other issues, too. 

Lunch will be brought in for all who attend. 

Bring a folding chair to rest or observe.

If you are a first-timer to the shop, please email us at GeorgiaFieroClub@Gmail.Com prior to Saturday morning and you will receive directions and the address.  If you wait until Saturday morning to inquire, it's likely no one will be monitoring the mailbox.

I believe that engine was an 87 that was placed in to an 86 car...... I think the 3.1 is the 3rd engine for that car

Methinks you're right about a third engine.  I think it had no engine when Fierofool got it.

You already gave me a memory fail, last time, so who knows, this yime, but I had thought that Fierofool said it had the early timing cover.

Also troubleshooting fuel pump wiring on a 4.9 conversion, if yall get real ambitious we can move the green car from the trailer to a cart in the shop

The 86 originally had an 86 engine in it when I got the car.  Replaced it with an 87 GT engine.  It sprung a leak and made peanut butter in the crankcase.  The engine that replaced that, currently sitting in the car, was a T series 3.1.

The current 3.1 replacement engine does have the early timing cover and pan.  I had intended to pull the 87 cover and pan and transfer it, but I wasn't progressing very well and elected to leave the one the previous owner had on the engine.  He transferred parts from his old engine onto the 3.1 when he upgraded.

So did I........ after fixing(?) the wiring the car wouldn't start, no fuel

Is it possible they did the direct wired fuel pump with a solonoid and so going back to stock means it doesn't have the fuel pump connected?
