Little light sockets
« on: October 07, 2020, 05:05:37 pm »
I need some of those little light sockets that go in the back of the instrument cluster.

I had some, but they have vanished, possibly with a prior Fiero.

I see something that might be it, the S503A.  Mine are grey.

I see Zack has signed off, so I'll answer.  They're in the Electric Bulb and Socket section.  Called Instrument Panel Lamp Socket.

I have a container full of them, but I don't know how good they are.  Bought them in a bunch of parts.

3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I had no idea they were available new.  Several Fieros ago, I had tried to buy them new, but had no luck.  So, I bought a used set.

Well, this weekend I get to meet 2 nephews. Next weekend are the board meetings.  The weekend after the newsletter is due.  The following weekend is Halloween.  November I have jury duty.  Maybe in December.

Hmmm.  Rockauto is very confused on parts.  Parts that go for all years, they have only on specific years.  For example, these sockets are not on the 1988, but are on the 1987, the same as the heater core.  Unfortunately, they don't know the correct size.

For other parts that are year-specific, they have them for all years.

I have ordered 4 different sockets.  Each was supposed to be compatible.  So far, no luck.

Could the sockets be different sizes for different years?

I bought mine on rock auto too. There are two sizes on there so I just measure mine. I bought the AC Delco ones. Fit perfectly in my 88. Now about to swap to a GT cluster so we will see if they fit.
1988 Fiero Base 4cyl 5spd.
1986 Fiero GT ... Parting out. Let me know if you need something.
