And so it begins...
« on: October 13, 2020, 11:09:58 pm »
We bought a property in Griffin this year with the intention of building our dream home which happens to include a 40x40 three bay shop with a lift. Unfortunately with COVID the price of lumber has skyrocketed and my house needs too many improvements to max out the sale price so we could afford to move forward. So I decided to make the best of it and start remodeling the house one area at a time.

I have a small workshop that at one point was a two car garage.

So I plan to cut back in a garage/shop door.

The ceiling is only 8 ft which means no good lift will fit. So I will be removing the plywood ceiling and raising the joist 2 ft so I can install the 9’3” tall lift(must are this size)

If anyone want to come play message me, I’m sure I will need plenty of help.

Also if you know of a lift for sale let me know. I have 220/240 in the shop but not three phase.

Keep in mind the car's roof will be at least 3 or 4 feet above the lift when raised... ;)

Unfortunately 10-10.5 foot is all I can do unless I raise the roof. Worst case I know it’s high for an engine drop and oil change. Infinitely better than jack stands.

I know what you mean.  Yesterday, I went to bed with no shed in my yard.  This morning, my yard had a shed in it.  This afternoon, I was cited for the shed in my yard.  Apparently, the neighbor did not secure the shed they built.  Further, to avoid a citation, the neighbor filed something in court that prevents me from just pushing their trash back over the fence.  So, I have to fix the fence, fix the electrical wires, and dispose of their shed.

I currently have just about everything in the back of my truck that bolts onto a Fiero V6It came from my replacement engine.  I'd be glad to deliver it to you instead of putting it in the barn with all the other parts.  Intakes, brackets, starter, water pump, just about the works.  I also have an almost complete rebuild gasket set.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Finally got the 3D printed skeleton installed. It took quite a bit of trimming to make it “perfect”. But she is solid.
