Anyone have a line on a white 87 SE? or GT?
« on: October 18, 2020, 02:08:44 pm »
I'm not even sure that a white SE exists.
I have seen lots of white 87 GTs and base coupes, but never an SE.

Anyway... I'm looking for one. Needs to be a 5 speed car with A/C. Working or not. No rust. Decent cosmetics. Prefer a V6 - running or not.

I suspect a lot of rust on that one.

I know what a GT is but not sure about the SE

The 86 and 87 SE was the Notchback body with GT trim.  The 85 GT body trim was kept for the SE model when the 86GT Fastback was introduced.

Charlie... who was the guy (former club member) who had the white GT? Lived up near Duluth. (We jump started it on one of the RFTH.)
Wasn't that an 87? And a manual?
Was his name Everett?

It is a white 88 GT.  It's automatic, if I recall.  That was at RFTH 10 in Asheville.  Last time I spoke with him about 4 years ago, the car has been parked in the back yard since he got it home.  His name is Everett Stowe and he lives just off Buford Drive in Lawrenceville.

Hmmm... Didn't remember it being an 88.
Thanks, Charlie.

Back in 2001 Hank Is Here posted this:  "I know there was white in 87. I have an 87 parts coupe that is white."

There were 34,211 white cars produced over 5 years.  White was available in all years.  23,603 base coupes and 3875 SE's and 3135 Sports in 87.  I think the Sport was actually either the 4-cylinder or did they retain the bumper pad into 87?  Certainly, there were white ones made with that total quantity.

Another less reliable source says white was only available in 84-86 but we know better than that.

Edit:  Just found another chart that says the 87 sport was an L4.

2681 total white vehicles in 87 from another production chart.

I did a Google search for 87 Fiero SE and nothing showed up as a true 87 SE in white.  Base Coupes and even Formulas and Indy's.  No white SE's.

The 4-cylinder 87 SE is the rarest specific Fiero model made, unless you count Mera. The V6 87 SE is a bit more common, but still not easy to find.

I remember that.
Sounds like the chance of finding a white one are Slim to None. And Slim has left the building.
