Here is mine. Found the filter. It’s underneath the car next to the fuel tank.

Dunno.  The 2.5 L is a solid, reliable engine--if you keep the RPMs down and the engine full of oil.  It is not a powerhouse.

Remember, GM only got a couple more HP out of the engine by going to the counterbalance shafts.

BTW, is your oil filter inside the oil pan or is it on the side of the engine?

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Hmmm.  Maybe someone did some mods.

The fuel lines are totally in a different location. I think it’s the 87-88 tbi change.

All L4 filters were up there.

My fuel lines hook to the other side of the tbi. The lines are factory or darn good replicas.

You know, I'm thinking my 88 Lil Duke Coupe filter was down below.  Fact I know it was because Roger and I pulled the tank and when I broke the coupling loose on the filter it blew gasoline out all in my face.  Again, is your oil filter in the pan?

So now we know for sure it's an 88 engine.  And yes, that's where the V6's fuel filters are located, too.  Plumbing lines must be different at the throttle body if the throttle bodies are interchangeable with all but the 86 and 84.  For some curious reason, they don't interchange in the Fiero.

My understanding is that 87 was the swap over year for the tbi. I have the Holley tbi for the 84 to 86 and I have no idea how they installed it on an 87/88. Way way way different.

I have one.  Not sure what year it's from.  I bought it to get the injector.  It has a bad injector in it, I think.

At least the injector is easy to get to.

I think you can install a spacer plate and get the same effect.
