There are some areas that are blocked off for certain vehicles and the rest is open.  Spaces can be saved in the open area by someone until about 7 then cones or whatever must be removed.  That's why we always need a headcount of who will be there.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Thinking of the latecomer Fieros, do you always park in the same area?

The only way to guarantee exact same area parking is to get there around 330am.  The Corvette club was where we were last time.
I heard a guy say he got there at 415 and they had already coned off a huge number of spots, which technically is against the rules but there is no way to enforce.  Thus we park in the same general section, but same actual spots is next to impossible. If your not there by 7, as cones are supposed to be pulled by then which everyone generally does by 715, your too late and every empty spot is taken up.  Only the exotics and porsches can show up late because most of the time there are less of them than total allotted spots in their two parking areas, sometimes though the spots are full and you'll see a Ferrari mixed in with Honda's.

The exotics & Porsches get allotted spots?

What stops people from parking there the night before?

Porsche has headquarters in Atlanta, their lot is huge. They pay for the lot.
It is the first place I go, free coffee and donuts.

The exotic lot is small, more used to show up but they have their own events all ove Atlanta, lots of money flashing going on in the ATL.

Not sure if they tow random cars away but they put up the barriers the Friday night before.
