Has anyone taken their starter on a fiero. I've started but I found it difficult to do. Any tips

Of course, disconnect the battery. There are two bolts that go straight up into the bottom of the block "ear".
Some starters might have a bracket on the front. It will need to be removed as well.
If you still have a catalytic converter, the job will possibly be easier if you drop the exhaust system out of the way.
That's the thing about Fieros. In order to remove something, you usually have to remove something else, too.
If your starter is bad, I (actually most of us) would recommend replacing it with a gear reduction starter. It'll be lighter, and less of a strain on the electrical system.
All Fiero starters are essentially interchangable. V6 to 4 cylinder included. One for a 3800 SC or 3.4 DOHC will work.

We just had a thread about starters. Check it out.

Knowing a little about you, to save you some money, I have 2 or 3 good used starters.  I will give you one.  I am on the other side of Atlanta from you, but we might meet half way this weekend.  I'm about as far East of Atlanta as you are West of Atlanta.  Maybe somewhere like Roswell Road at I-285?

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Not mentioned above is the dust shield on the transmission bell housing. You may find the job easier if you remove that first. Besides, it will allow you to check how the gears mesh when you put the new starter on.

Pro tip:  Disconnect the battery, first.
