2.8L GT Injectors
« on: February 25, 2021, 07:59:15 pm »
Looking to see if anyone has their hands on a spare set, or if they know anyone that has a set. Any stock replacement set would work!

Likely, any spare set would need to be rebuilt.  Are yours beyone rebuilding?

He is currently running the Bosch injectors that you would use for a 3.4 swap. Out of a BMW 328i. They're making his car run too rich and he needs stock injectors.

One of our forum members, mweldon, said he had a set when I was looking for some. Send him a PM.

I had my old ones refurbished by Fuel Injector Connection and several failed before I even got the car on the road.  Had them rebuild another couple to replace those and more failed on the 40 mile drive home.  I then purchased new ones from Rock Auto for 1/3 of what I paid FIC to rebuild my old ones.

They are Standard Motor Products Part Number FJ9.  I see that the current number is FJ111 and a single injector is more than what I paid for a set of 6, but I bought mine on clearance.

Those BMW injectors would certainly be too much for a 2.8.

Hmmm.  I thought Fuel Injector Connection was supposed to do a good job.

Me, too.  They certainly fell short on mine, though.  I paid them less than $100 for my original refurbished BMW injectors.  It was $154 for the refurbishing of my 2.8 injectors.  The New Standard Motor injectors I bought on closeout from Rock Auto for the 86SE only cost me $52 or $54 dollars for the set.

I still have to get the upgraded replacement BMW injectors into the 87 and the new injectors into the 86.

Sandman87 how are the upgraded injectors working out for you?

I just noticed Rock Auto has Ultra Power injectors for $15.79 each.  New.

If those are correct, that is better than what I paid for mine.

The Ultra Power are for a 2.8, not a 3.4.  What are you using in your 88?

I forgot you're running the 1227730 ECM.  It will run the MulTecs if programmed for them.  Mine is programmed for the EV1 BMW injectors.

Those are the original Rochester 3.4's, right?  The nice thing about the EV1's is that they will work with the stock Fiero ECM without reprogramming, but if upgrading to the 7730, either injector works.

Dunno about the EV1's, but the 7730 must be programmed for the other injectors I tested.  I could run with 15-, 17-, or 19-lb injectors, but the 17 are better for this application.

I think the 7730 has to be programmed for whatever injectors you use.  The good thing about the EV1's is that no programming is needed for the stock Fiero V6 ECM.  They are identical to stock except for the flow.
