It seems as if I saw that exact Fiero for sale somewhere else.  The one I saw had the same body damage, but this Fiero sermed familiar before I got to those images.

That's not really an unreasonable price, even with the damage, but being a Maryland car, I would certainly want a certified inspection for rust before venturing a purchase.  The salvage title isn't really an issue in Georgia.  A friend and former member just told me of an accident he had where he ran over an unmarked island in a left lane.  They had converted the lane to a left turn only and the concrete island wasn't clearly marked.  Instead of turning it into his insurance because the damage amount would have totaled the vehicle, he paid for the repair out of pocket.  Just $2500.  And it wasn't a Fiero, either.

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Didn't notice Murderland anywhere in the description.  Currently in Easley, SC.

The owner made an insurance claim, so this is a Salvage Title.  The info I found is here: https://dor.georgia.gov/titles-rebuilt-or-restored-vehicles
Doesn't look that easy.

I don't know where I saw Maryland. Must have been from one of the other ads I looked at on Marketplace.

What about Salvage Antique cars?

Do you know through experience that someone can take a Salvage Title from another State and put it on the road in Georgia just because it is an Antique vehicle?

I'm interested in the answer.

Not sure if I'd be happy or sad with either response.

In one case someone could get a cool, old car to drive around that was totaled only because an insurance company didn't want to pay for repairs.
In the other case someone could get a cool, old car to drive around that was totaled and is a complete hazard to the driver and anyone close by.

No title required in Ga for antique cars.

The definition of antique car varies by state.  Usually 30 years, here.

Anyone who would buy this Fiero needs to inspect it carefully, first.  Sometimes, getting a car with a salvage title legally back on the road is difficult.  Here, the HP must inspect the vehicle.  They can deny the request, and even crush the vehicle, just because they don't want to deal with it.

According to our resident body man, Salvage titles CAN be converted to Rebuilt titles. Once all the structural work is completed, the car has to be taken to an inspector who will sign off on the integrity of the repairs. There may be a bit more to it than this, but that's it in a nutshell. Once the structural work is signed off, the cosmetics can be completed.
With that said, a rebuilder license is required, which he doesn't have.
He goes to abandoned/repo'd vehicle auctions, and buys cars to repair and sell, but avoids the salvage title cars.
Also... just because a car has a clear title doesn't always mean that it's capable of being made roadworthy. It may cost way more to fix than it's worth, or may require specialized skills. (John was about to bid on a "clear title" Porsche Cayman, until he realized that the structure that was tweaked was aluminum. Way more trouble than he wanted.)

You are allowed to rebuild 2 cars per year without having a rebuilders license

So I have a definitive answer. In Georgia if you buy a car that’s an antique you only need a bill of sale. You do not have to do anything with the title unless you really want the headache. They said keep good records, get what title they have, copy of their license, bill of sale etc. that’s it. Now this may not be true any any other state but in GA that’s the rule.
