Another consideration is distance.  Some may be willing to drive further than others.  For example, 20 minutes isn't a long drive for me, but other people seem to think that is far.

Speaking for the slacker in Augusta, we're talking a 6 hour round trip.

Wow. Mine is only a four hour round trip. Through Atlanta traffic. :D
Actually do-able. Sometimes.
COVID has been a deal-breaker, lately, but that's about to be a thing of the past. Hopefully. (Got my 2nd shot last Thursday.)

If you are on the West side, and PG is on the East side, how is it 3 hours for him, and 4 hours for you?  I live in a larger state, and can cross the state in 4 hours.

He's three hours one way. I'm four hour round trip. (You know... two hours one way.)

Jimmy is in Newnan. We are going to be doing a 3800sc on the 86 and swapping his 84 body over.

Nice! When is this supposed to begin?

He is looking for a donor vehicle now. If anyone has a suggestion please reach out to him. We will be doing it at wherever I end up moving to. His frame and metal is in rough shape. So putting everything in my 86 makes the most sense. He wants to keep the GT rear and do the 84 front. Also he wants it to be auto.

A good donor car.  Already automatic, so the swap is easier, and it's an 85 with better electrics and less conversion needs.

Yup.  Fiero prices have gone up.  That $1,250 is the starting bid.

First, useless trivia.  In land area Georgia is the largest state east of the Mississippi.  My fastest route to a Roswell meeting is west via I-20 than north around Atlanta via their perimeter.

With the way the roads are I'm basically doing two sides of a triangle and not the hypotenuse.  It's (supposedly) 3 hours from Augusta to Carrollton cuz it's a straight shot across I-20.

Second, more useless trivia, Michigan and Florida are larger if water is included in the state's size.

Back on topic. One past consideration was car visibility from the road, not sure if that really matters now or not.  The Duluth Diner is just too small, and now too busy.

The R.O.M.E.O. hot rod guys meet at Marietta Diner.  Huge parking lot, lots of seating as 50 guys go on Tuesday mornings.  Never been inside though can't get their early enough so not sure if they seat as a large group or table by table.  Luckys burgers and brew in Marietta was a spot for one of my clubs.  They have an outdoor pavilion for nice weather that is dog friendly, indoor seating is possible as they have a bump out area with tables they will reserve for big groups with notice. The old blind dog in Brookhaven has a side room that would fit us all.  JR's Log House on 141, we went there once when Galaxy closed.  This is where the V8 club meets.  Lots of room, will reserve with notice, average food.  How about a Marlos Tavern? They advertise that they take groups.  Not a huge fan of IHOP, service tends to stink, food blah,  and not really set up for large groups bring mostly booths.

If we go regularly anywhere they are more likely to save us a spot.  JRs is great that way, we tell them a month ahead and are good to go.

Might also consider a day and time change.  1:30 kills a whole Saturday.  With kids and events in non-covid times it is hard to get there.  How about 7pm dinner on a Tuesday?  Or 7am on Saturday?

I like Marietta diner. Also the time has been a problem too. Not 7am but maybe 10am. Brunch time.

When I was plotting out the members area, I entered a diner search and Marietta Diner was one of the popup sites I looked at.  I think they have a long table where they can seat a group.  In the pictures, I only remember seeing one long table.  Might be more, but only one group picture was shown.

I've eaten at the Marietta Dinner , since it is down the road from me.  Food is pretty good, question would be, when you would meet and if the tables in the back are taken by another group.

For reference, how does the food compare to what the Galaxy Diner served?

If you mean diversity, then as if not more diverse. If you mean quality, then I’d say it’s better food. But I’ve only ate them a dozen or so times.
