4.9 Formula for sale in Auburn. Looks like T-top

It's on Facebook Marketplace. Needs work.

Yeah.  The engine bay is a mess.  I'm cusious about the rust areas.

Did this person ever reach out to the club?

Well, it appears (to me) to be a factory yellow T-top.

This is a market item?

A friend told me about the car. The owner has not contacted the club, as far as I know.

He would likely have gotten it running, had he reached out for help, earlier in the process.  Too bad.  Certainly close enough.

That's not a T-top.  I'm pretty sure that's Kevin McFall's old car.  He swapped out the front part of the roof with a black section.  I think it was so he could have a sunroof.  It did have a Fiero Factory swap.  I don't know what transmission it had, but I thought it was a Getrag.  It may have been swapped over to the automatic at some point.

I just verified that it Kevin's car.  His real name is Thomas, and when you go to Facebook Message to ask a question, it addresses the seller as Thomas.

Rob the guy that was at the meeting with the red 88 warned me about this guy. Much worse shape in person. Plus the guy was acting very shady. Not my words but passing along what I heard.

If it is Kevin/Thomas, he seemed nice if opinionated.  Used to be active in GFC leadership.

I have not met hum, but have spoken with him.

Having been a Fiero person, you would think he would have pics of the typical problem areas...unless there is something to hide.

Its interesting that there is a chain laying around in the engine bay..... Either they were getting ready to take the engine out or forgot it was there.....

The car was in pretty solid shape.  I haven't seen the car since he left the club about 10 years ago and he lives on the other side of Auburn from me.

It could be very recent that he replaced the engine, thus the chain.  His words from the ad:   so I purchased another engine. Started to swap it out. Ran out of skill & money.
Did the hard work, installed motor, cradle & rear suspension. It needs to be checked
& torqued to spec. Just needs someone to finish it that knows how.

Well, swapping out one 4.9 for another shouldn't be as difficult as the original swap, in theory.

If you're bored, there is another 4.9...

Yeah...
I can't think of anything that hasn't already been done, other than sacrificing a chicken or other small mammal.
At this point most everything has been replaced at least once, except the harness.
I'm tired of telling Scott, "try this", and having him throw money and parts at it, and it not accomplishing anything.

I've got one other thing up my sleeve that I'm going to try. (Has do do with the chip programming. I want to turn off the O2 sensor that isn't present. Mine is set up similarly to Scott's. Hasn't proven to be detrimental, so I am NOT hopeful.)
It would appear that I/we are overlooking something.

With that said...
I was looking at the other car with the full expectation that it would not run. But I was going to try. All I could do would be put it together and see what happened.
Since I already have a 4.9, I was probably going to do something else in that one before expending a lot of effort.
I decided to let it go, since we have been doing a bunch of building, down here, and it looked like we might be about to go to war with one of our contractors. (Things are actually looking a bit better in that regard, but I still wanted to conserve funds and energy.)
Among other things.

Besides, I know someone who needs an un-cobbled-up harness. At some point I'm going to do a 7730 in my 4.9 car. If Scott's isn't running right by then, I'll sell him my entire harness and computer for a good price.

Hmmmm...I just thought of something.
