2021 Georgia Triumph Association Charity Polar Bear Run
« on: November 30, 2021, 11:04:10 pm »
Polar Bear Run, Saturday, January 8, 2022

Due to the fact that the last Saturday in 2021 is the day after Christmas and that most dining establishments will be closed Saturday, January 1st, the GTA has decided to host this event on Saturday, January 8, 2022.  The route will start at Atlanta Motorsport Park in Dawsonville and end in Clayton, GA.  More details to follow.

They usually kick off about 9AM.  This is a fundraiser for ALS.  No entry fees but donations are welcome.

Rain or shine event with the event usually terminating at a restaurant.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

Roger that. Does the vehicle have to be a 'cool' one, or theme-d?

There have been every day SUV's in years past.  It's just a back country cruise.  Roads that few people see other than the locals.

I just realized that the Polar Bear Run will be held on the same day as our January meeting.

Per the GTA website, the driver's meeting will be at 10 AM, so if you are going, I would recommend arriving at the event start no later than 9:30.

Who is going on the Polar Bear Run tomorrow?  I know of 2 Fieros and possibly 2 'Vettes.

I'm going (yellow car). I ran it a bit today, to make sure the battery was charged. It barely turned over, so it needed it.

Today was one of the prettiest days in some time for the Polar Bear Run.  Also, one of the largest groups of participants I remember.

Unfortunately, Fieros were obscure.  For Georgia Fieros, the count was 2 Fieros, 2 Corvettes.

Here are some views of the cars that showed up, as seen from the Atlanta Motorsports Park club house 2nd floor.

There was some ice on the cliffs at higher elevations, but none on the roads.
