Car in a Movie -- What is it?
« on: February 05, 2022, 02:13:45 pm »
I was watching one of my favorite old movies, "What About Bob", and I noticed a car that looked like a Fiero. But on closer examination, I saw that it's not a Fiero, but I'm not sure what it is. Here are pictures. It's not in focus in the movie.

I believe the red Nissan was called a Pulsar NX in the states.
Yeah... the Porsche 928.

I googled 928 images to see what the Porsche version looked like.  The only one that was a notchback was the Targa.  It looks like the one in Pat's posting is about an 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX.  Good call.  The Porsche 928 had very rounded features.  The Nissan was boxy.  Did they have the same powerplants?

I found a picture of a 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX, from the same angle, and same color.

Ah!  Now I see the 928.  I thought PK meant they were the same platform with different skins.

The Porche 928 Targa looks similar, but it looks like a t-top rather than a true targa.

Holy smokes! I've never seen that one before.
I think it loses a lot in the translation.
Might be better with the Targa if it retained the fastback, too.
