Fuel Injectors for 3.4 Camaro/Firebird Swap
« on: November 04, 2010, 01:00:04 pm »
I have had very good success with my Fuel Injector Connection injectors in my 3.4 swap.  I've been involved with 3 swaps.  The first got the Ford 302 Mustang injectors rated at 19lb.  It runs rich and only delivers a little more than 20 mpg on a 4 speed transmission.

The second used the original Rochester 17lb injectors.  It also ran very rich and delivered about 20+ mpg with huge rear tires and an automatic.

The third used the Bosch BMW V8 injectors.  It averages about 25 around town, which rarely sees fifth gear.  On the highway with cruise and no air, it has delivered 32 mpg.  It doesn't run rich, either.

For informational purposes, for use in the 3.4 liter equipped Fieros:   The part number on these injectors is 280 150 941. They are the Bosch pintel injectors with the gray body.  (See the corrected information below)  Rated at 17lb at about 43psi, which is the pressure rating of the stock Fiero fuel pressure regulator.

There are three kinds of men:

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

BMW Fuel Injector (M50 S50 M52 S52) - Bosch 13641730060.  Use 0280150415 for flow reference

NEW Bosch "green tip" injector.

These Bosch injectors with the green pintel cap indicate a 17lb rating.

This site lists the information for most all brand injectors.  Just click on the brand then find the part number.

I am also running the Bosche injecters, the have performed quite well. You can run them as Charley said at stock fuel pressure, there is no need for an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, witch can cost 118.95 from the Fiero Store. You can put that towards the cost of the injecters witch ran 160.00$ when I got mine apx.2 yrs. ago.
