roadkill still here
« on: November 21, 2010, 03:43:49 pm »
I got hit by a car but I'm still here. I can't spell to well but I think I can make it. I'm using a wheel chair and had to stop machanics work but I'll be back. They said it will be a while before I can drive again since I broke my clutch leg up so bad. But if you know me you know I'll be back. I broke both collar bones and my clutch leg in 3 or 4 places, busted my head open and got some brain damage. They switched out a few muscles in my leg. got a few ribs busted and a few other things. You people have been great to me and I will be back down there soon.

Glad to hear that you're doing well enough to post a message!
Maybe you can come to our Christmas party.

I've been talking with him several times a week, and he's doing pretty good.  They are going to let him go home soon.  Exactly when hasn't been determined, but it will be soon.  Because his wife works, he will be staying at his Mother's house, so he has someone with him at all times.  He really is the Come Back Kid.

It's the same number he always had.  He just isn't allowed to have the phone at the Rehab Center.  His family gives it to him when they pick him up.  You can usually call him in the late afternoon or early evening.

Dewey, he said he saw where you'd called and he tried to call back but couldn't reach you.  He had several hundred calls in his mailbox and had to clear them.

I talked with him last night.  He said they let him go home and he stayed overnight.  Had his family together.  Even his sister from South Carolina was there.  He had been outside on the porch and got a little cold and his left side went numb on him.  Apparently from the damage done by the accident.

He sounds good and I think he really is thankful for what he has.

I'm still here and still getting better. I should be getting to go home in a couple of weeks, but its only temporary staying. I've been using a walker to get around here lately. I fell useing the walker last week (2 Times) but got no more damage. I hope to see you all pretty soon. Still wanting to drive my Fiero again, and I will soon.

I'm still going to make it. ;D I came home yesterday but I have to go back tomorrow, just a short break. Everything is still improving slowly but I still have a lot of friends helping me through this. If you really want to know how I'm doing you can check with Charlie. I talk to him a lot. I'm still working with the insurance so I can't say much here. But I do plan on a full recovery. It may take a little longer than I'm expecting but I'll be back. I'll tell you one thing...this has got to be the worsed I've felt in years. But I've got a Fiero that I crank up from time to time that makes me feel better. And it's Gold. My next thing to get going right is my left leg so I can operate the clutch. They still don't want me working on cars for a long time so I can't switch it to an automatic, besides I love the 4 speed. Their still talking 4 to 5 years before I'll be back working...but we all know better...I'm expecting to go back to my hobbie soon.
Their still saying I should get out of rehab in 4 to 6 weeks. My arms and shoulders are doing great and now I can turn my head with out pain. Just as soon as I figure out my leg problems I think I'm done. Parts of my memmory are starting to return, slowly.

Hi Rob,
Glad to see you're doing better. We've all missed you. I haven't responded here 'cause I know you don't get to the computer very often anyway. But GET WELL SOON.  ;)
