where is the best place to buy P215/60R14 tires ?  Seems they are not to easy to find these days -  what are you using to replace them a 70 series ? I can find afew in that size but not many thanks

If you can't find what you want locally, try www.tirerack.com   Usually a set of 4 will cost you about 50 in shipping to your closest NTB tire store.  They customarily charge about 15 per wheel for mounting and balancing, so your cost will be about 110 above the cost of the tires.  I've found that their prices are usually cheaper than buying locally.  The Yokohama distribution center is about 3 miles from me and it's still cheaper to order through Tire Rack than to buy from a local Yokohama dealer.

Their website allows you to shop by brand or size and you can select from a number of installers in your area.  It just happens that NTB is the cheapest installer near me.  It may be different in your area.

Edit:  I just checked and they only have BFGoodrich in that size.  Raised white letter.  Same if you go up one size to 225/60/14

NTB doesn't stock the tire.  They're in a distribution center in Midway, Ga.  When you order, they're shipped in to NTB or America's Service Stations or whatever authorized Tire Rack vendor you choose.  You won't have any trouble going up to the 225's on your stock rims.  I just removed a set of dry rotted 215/70/14's and put on Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's in the 215/60/14 size.  The 70 series is a big chunk of tire and fills up the wheel wells nicely.  The Firestones are a set I've had for a while.  They're no longer available in that size.

Everybody seems to be dropping that size. I have Cooper Cobra's in 215 60R14 on my 86 SE, and have heard that Cooper doesn't make that size anymore.

I hate to spend the price of the 60s at $100 +  if I can use a 70 series  - they are half the price -  just wondered what everyone else was using on theres ?

I get my BF Goodrich at discount tires, they stock 215/60r 14  white raised letters..  Also Summit racing in McDonough carries BF Goodrich 215/60r 14, they are about 86.00 apiece.....

That's the same and only ones Tire Rack carries in that size.  A set of 4 would cost about $360 plus $50 shipping and $60 mount and balance.  Total of $470.  That will give you a price to compare when buying locally.

I have an 88 coupe that had 215/70/14 tires on it.  They fit very well and actually look better in the wheel well than the 60 series.  You could even go down to a 205/70/14. If you want the stock size, as 85GT says, BF Goodrich seems to be the only ones still stocking that size.

I could never afford concrete blocks.  I used 2x4's that the skirting on my mobile home was fastened to.
