It's in the trunk.

This uses coil packs, or DIS (Distibutorless Ignition System).  The distributor is no longer required.  Nor is the failure-prone ICM.  You can see the coil packs at the bottom of the picture, against the trunk wall.  Their ICM is the base of the coil pack.

The system is DIS (Distributorless Ignition System).  The distributor is replaced by those coilpacks you see.  Your 85 most likely didn't get the DIS system because there's no provision for a crankshaft sensor unless an aftermarket unit is mounted on the timing cover and a reluctor wheel is also mounted on the balancer to trigger the spark.

Click here to see a PDF document with a list of cars that use a digital EGR that can be used with the adapter plate. If you want to save the document, right click on the link and select "Save target as" or "Save link as" from the menu that pops up.

Are all of those on the list compatible with the 7730 ECM conversion?

Not the car.  The digital EGR.  It is the same part, so yes.

When you get the digital EGR valve, be sure to get the main harness that plugs into it.  Cut 6 or so inches of wire to go with it.

I kept the one that came off my 3.4 but I've also collected a few more just in case it was a bad EGR.  At the time I got mine about 5 years ago there was no trouble in finding them all through the Pull a Part yard.  Most late 80s-early 90s seemed to have them.

I got my EGR new.  The pigtails were available new from buywiring.com, but no longer.

Since I haven't seen your Fiero, Scott, I don't know.  Do you have a digital EGR on yours?
