Re-run of RFTH and Cruising In The Mountains.
« on: September 27, 2011, 09:57:10 am »
Would like to know who will be going on a partial rerun of RFTH 16 and some laid back cruising in the mountains on October 15.  We can hit part of the RFTH route and cruise some new roads.  Just spending the day without any particular schedule, other than a starting time.  Stopping at scenic areas and eat when the stomach tells us to.

2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

I am trying to decide if I can justify coming down for this mini-run or not.  I can justify the gas money...but I would have to leave in the wee hours of the morning to meet up with you.  How early are you looking at getting started?

Edit:  Cancel that...just remembered I have other obligations on the 15th.  Bummer.

Gail and I will be there also. And I think Darrell and Janice are coming. I might let Gary drive one of my Fieros.

Clayton, Ga. Ingles Shopping Center Parking Lot, corner of Warwoman Road and US 441, 9-10 AM, October 15, unless it's raining.  A day of leaf-looking, twisting and turning, sightseeing and eating.  We may end up getting back near Oh-Dark-Thirty.

Edited to change the meeting place.  We'll meet at the Burger King parking lot next to the Days Inn.

The weather forecast is for a sunny day with temps in the mid 70's.  This would be a good couples or parent-child excursion.  Colors should be great, so bring your cameras.

Charlie;
We won't be able to be at Burger King by 1oAM.  Where are you planning on stopping for lunch?  We will meet you there if you have a location.
At the club meeting you said part of the run would be on 256.  Did you mean 276 in NC?  We can't find a 256.
Harry

PS   I put my new Rodney clutch slave cylinder in today.  I took it for a short spin, it feels like a different car.  Now you can't say that I am shiftless.

I didn't have any particular place planned for lunch.  I just thought we'd stop if we got hungry or saw a good place.  We're taking the first part of the RFTH out of Clayton up to Cashiers, so we should be there around 11.  The highway I meant was 215, but that will be on into the afternoon before we get there.  You can call me at six seven eight 467 one seven 4 two to let me know where you are as you come up.
