Lady Bug died a few day's ago  and Gail buried her close to the deck. Ir's 74 degrees outside now, but it's going to rain tomorrow.

On the positive side, that is cooler than I keep my house, and much cooler than Vegas.

It was 97, when I landed, and people were looking at me like I was a wierdo.  Maybe they had never seen an insulated flannel shirt and a coat before.

Since Fathers' Day is tomorrow, here's an idea.

I like my chair.  I got it used (from a deceased relative), because I couldn't find another like it new.  This chair rocks, reclines, swivels, and leans.  When this chair is reclined, it cannot rock or lean.  I removed the cloth from the recline lever, had the chair cleaned, and replaced the broken plywood base/swivel with a metal one.  Unfortunately, the new swivel base says it only supports 300 pounds.  That seems a bit low.

If you can find such a chair (not mine), I highly recommend it.  My chair unfortunately does not have pockets in the arms.  So, no cup holders.  This chair replaced my rally chair and my papasan chair.  My only complaint is that the fabric used to upholster the chair is corduroy.  If the fabric gets worn, I'll widen the arms, add pockets, and have the chair re-upholstered with leatherette.

I have a sectional chair that is a corner piece, overstuffed, reclines, and has huge arms, but it is HUGE.  The back has several bends, but is about 9 feet wide.  When my kids were younger, they used to sit on the arms while I read to my kids.  Heck.  The arms are as wide as kitchen chairs.  There are 11 pieces to the sectional, and they take up an entire corner of the room.  This other chair only takes up a regular chair worth of space, except when reclined.

Possibly, the chair could be raised a bit.  Maybe 2 inches.  I may see about adjusting the mount for the base.

My sofa and Mel's recliner are both 100% leather.  Medium stuffed I guess you would call them.  The recliner rocks and reclines only.  The sofa has 2 recliners.  No pockets or cupholders on either.  The coffee table and a side table are close at hand to each.

Depending upon what your flooring material is, I would recommend a piece of 1 inch plywood as a base.  Then get a large loop pile throw rug and cut and bond a piece to the bottom.  My hardwood floors were damaged by the legs of the chairs so Melanie got foam rubber filled plastic discs with a loop pile cover.  I have those under the chair, coffee table and sofa so that when I move them around to clean or rearrange the room, they don't damage the hardwood.

The metal might possibly leave a rust stain on carpet and would certainly do damage to a hardwood floor.
There are three kinds of men:

1.    The ones that learn by reading.
2.    The few who learn by observation.
3.    The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.    Will Rogers

The metal has plastic feet every few inches.

I have a recliner downstairs.  There is a nearby table.  Not that great, because the table is stationary.

It's 70 degrees outside now and  we only got a half inch of rain. But I did install our new rain gauge. Using my new tools that we bought last night. And I'm going to mow my yard tomorrow.

I mowed my yard again and it's doing great. I'm getting my new leg Friday and it's going to be black around my thigh and have a gold Fiero on it with 1986 over the top of it and Fiero GT under it. And the leg will be shorter.

My legs are OK, but I could use s new arm....of the same length.

No more rain up  here until Wednesday, and I have my new leg and it's shorter than the other one, so now I don't have to have the seat modified on my gold Fiero which is on my leg now.
